Are grieving fathers supported?
0%Yes
0%No
Losing a child is not easy. Our losses were miscarriages and a stillbirth. Many days the disappointment and pain was unbearable. I thank God for not being on the journey alone. My husband was right there.
In reflection, I can recall him taking care of me and our other children. He listened and did his best to comfort me. He prayed for and with me.
Who prayed for him? Who listened to him? Who walked with him? Many people called and checked on me. Not many checked on him. Not many asked how are you doing?
Let's not forget that many children have two parents. Two parents that are affected by their child's loss regardless of how they died. May we do better at supporting and demonstrating love and concern for the father. May we create support groups and resources to help fathers in their grieving process.
